Jacto was started by Shunji Nishimura, who immigrated to Brazil from Japan in the early 1930’s. He started a fix-it shop where he repaired just about anything his customers brought him. After repairing an agricultural “duster” Nishimura re-designed it as a more comfortable backpack duster. At the request of his neighbors, Nishimura went on to design his own duster.
