Founded in 1965 in Manitoba under the Friesen brand, Meridian introduced the first all-welded smooth wall steel hopper bin. Expansion followed across Canada and into the U.S., including new facilities in Alberta and Iowa. By 1997, Meridian had significantly grown its manufacturing footprint. WGI Westman Group Inc. acquired Meridian’s facilities between 2002–2004. In 2007, operations unified under the Meridian Manufacturing Group, later rebranded in 2013 as Meridian Manufacturing Inc. after merging with sister companies Behlen and Sakundiak.
